This is the first Broadway revival of the 1966 musical weaving together three disparate stories with rousing, witty music by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock, the team behind Fiddler on the Roof. But the real theatrical comeback is for Kristin Chenoweth. The star, who originated the trilling, honey-voiced good witch in the smash hit Wicked, has returned to the Great White Way after a stint in TV (The West Wing) and movies (Bewitched). Here, she plays Eve in the first act, then a mythic princess in part two, and finally, a chimney sweep with movie-star aspirations.
